How Our Checkout Process Works

Step 2: Enter Shipping Information

Step 3: Choose Payment Method
Select whether you wish to pay by credit/debit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. If paying by card, enter your card details in our secure form. If using a digital wallet, you will be redirected to authenticate with your device.

Step 4: Review and Confirm
Before finalizing your purchase, you will see one final summary including all items, shipping costs, taxes (if applicable), and the total amount to be charged. This is your last chance to make changes before your card is charged.

Step 5: Order Confirmation

Address Verification Service (AVS)

Card Verification Value (CVV) Requirement

Depending on your card issuer and the risk assessment of the transaction, you may be asked to verify your identity through a text message code, biometric verification through your bank’s app, or answers to security questions.

Refund and Dispute Process

Processing Refunds

Refund timing varies by payment method and financial institution:

  • Credit and debit cards: 3-10 business days (most complete within 5 days)

  • Apple Pay and Google Pay: Same as the underlying card, typically 3-10 business days

Please note that while we initiate refunds immediately upon approval, the time it takes for the funds to appear in your account is determined by your bank or card issuer, not by Hangwoous or Stripe. If a refund has not appeared after 10 business days, please contact your financial institution before reaching out to us.

Chargebacks

A chargeback occurs when a customer disputes a charge directly with their credit card issuer rather than seeking a refund through us. While we understand that customers have the right to dispute charges, we strongly encourage you to contact us first if you have any issue with your order. Most problems can be resolved much more quickly and amicably through our customer service team than through the chargeback process.

If you initiate a chargeback without first attempting to resolve the issue with us, please be aware that:

  • We will provide Stripe with all relevant documentation to contest the chargeback if we believe it is invalid

  • The chargeback process can take 60-90 days to resolve

  • Your card issuer may charge you a fee for filing a chargeback

  • We may suspend your account or refuse future orders if you abuse the chargeback process

Taxes and Duties

Domestic Orders (United States)

For orders shipped within the United States, applicable sales tax is calculated based on the shipping address. Tax rates vary by state, county, and city, and our system automatically applies the correct rate based on your location. Taxes are displayed during checkout before you confirm your purchase.

International Orders

For orders shipped outside the United States, customs duties, taxes, and fees may be applied by the destination country. These charges are the responsibility of the customer, not Hangwoous US LLC. We have no control over these fees, cannot predict them with certainty, and cannot refund shipping or product costs if you refuse to pay them and your package is returned to us.

We recommend that international customers research their country’s import duties and tax policies before placing an order. In many cases, packages with declared values below a certain threshold may be exempt from duties, but these thresholds vary significantly by country.

Payment Failures and Declines

Occasionally, a payment may be declined. Common reasons include:

  • Insufficient funds in the account

  • Incorrect card number, expiration date, or CVV

  • Billing address mismatch (AVS failure)

  • Card issuer’s fraud prevention block

  • Card expired or not yet activated

  • Daily or monthly spending limit reached

If your payment is declined, you will see a message explaining the reason (to the extent that Stripe provides this information). You can try again with the same card after correcting any errors, use a different payment method, or contact your card issuer to resolve the issue.

Please do not attempt to place the same order repeatedly with a declined card, as multiple failed attempts may trigger additional fraud alerts from your bank.

Saving Payment Information

For returning customers who create an account on our website, we offer the option to save payment methods for faster checkout on future orders. When you save a card, we do not store the full card number. Instead, we store a token provided by Stripe that is useless to anyone outside of our specific Stripe integration. You can view, add, or remove saved payment methods at any time from your account dashboard.

If you prefer not to save your payment information, you can simply check out as a guest or decline the option to save your card when creating an account.
